Graduate Accounting Programs

Gain with the technical skills, advanced training in specific disciplines, and reality-based education experience to prepare you for upper-level accounting careers and financial positions in today鈥檚 dynamic global business environment.

The program will also provide you with the educational experience to meet the North Carolina State Board of Public Accountancy鈥檚 150-hour requirement to obtain the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examination.

Curriculum

What You’ll Learn

As a student in the Master of Accountancy program, you will deepen your knowledge of the key functions of accounting and how it applies to economics, finance, international business, management, information systems, marketing, operations, statistics, and more. You will learn how to demonstrate leadership and business decision-making skills, while also gaining experience in the application of accounting concepts through internships, service opportunities, course projects, course simulations, and interaction with business leaders.

Available Programs

Master of Accountancy

In addition to the University鈥檚 prerequisites, the Master of Accountancy requires a minimum of 30 semester credit hours of graduate studies, including 15 hours of core curriculum, nine accounting elective hours and six graduate business elective hours. A student may take nine to 15 accounting elective hours by selecting an emphasis, or a combination of different areas. The required curriculum includes a Capstone course in advanced auditing.

MBA Plus – Accounting Certificate

Students can earn a MBA Plus 鈥 Accounting Certificate by completing 18 credit hours of Accounting courses.

Accelerated Master of Accountancy

The Accelerated Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program allows 成人视频 undergraduate students to begin work in the MAcc program while completing their bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting.

Qualified students may apply for admission to the Accelerated Master鈥檚 Program (AMP) in Accountancy during their junior year (or after 60 credit hours). If accepted, students can take up to six credit hours of graduate coursework to apply toward their MAcc degree and earn combination credit for these hours at the undergraduate level.

Courses in this program are taught online in eight-week terms to increase flexibility.

Graduates from the Godbold College of Business Bachelor of Science degree programs will be seamlessly admitted into the following programs: Master of Business Administration, Master of Sport Management, or International Master of Business within one year of graduation. Graduates from the Godbold College of Business Bachelor of Science in Accounting program will be seamlessly admitted into the Master of Accounting program within one year of graduation.鈥
